Online Investing: Local Online Resources
The local stock market suffers from being an "illiquid market" or thin market.
Meaning, there is not enough number of buyers and sellers, at least to attract more foreign investors. So I'd like to take this opportunity to provide potential 'retail investors' more ways to get information about the market by making use of 'readily available' mobile or web resources.
And even though I'm far from even being remotely considered a successful investor, I'd still like to advocate investments in Stocks, Bonds or Mutual funds.
So for all you budding stock investors our there....
If you want to see the PSE website Ticker Tape, here's the link

If you want to take a look at the current value of an individual stock, for example iBank (IBNK), use the link
http://www.pse.org.ph/html/MarketInformation/stockinfo.jsp?securitySymbol=IBNK
(Tip: just change the last few characters to the stock symbol you want to view)
If you want to receive stock quotes via SMS, just text "PSE QUOTES <Stock Symbol>" to 2333 for Globe users and 211 for Smart. They have their SMS/WAP information page at http://www.pse.org.ph/html/WAPSite/wap_site.html
These are all just in the PSE website. I just provided the shortcuts I use.
And for us small-time or 'noob' investors who can't afford those 'real-time stock information systems', these resources should get you going. :)
And by the way, in case you need a broker, I'll be happy to recommend and give you the contact number of my broker. :)
